Fear is the one thing that can take your dreams of financial freedom, loving relationships, a fulfilling and significant life, and turn them into a pattern of deadly habits including procrastination, self-sabotage and other bad habits.
There was a time in my life when I was really afraid of going after my dreams because I feared I would fail, so for many years I sat in limbo doing more of the same things I had done all my life. The changes I desired eluded me, but still, I carried on along the same path, feeling more frustrated and depressed by the day. This is exactly what a popular quote describes as ‘insanity’, i.e. doing the same things over and over again, expecting to see change.
If you have some kind of fear, you are not alone. According to statistics, 12.5% of adults experience a specific phobia at some time in their lives. One particular phobia affects an estimated 17 to 21 million people in the U.S. alone – the fear of Friday the 13th, the most feared date on the calendar – but this is only one out of hundreds of fears and phobias.
