Did you know that your attitude at the start of the day can have more effect on you than ten cups of coffee?! TEN cups of coffee! Are you kidding me?! Wow, for those of us who are coffee drinkers, now that’s saying a lot, isn’t it?
If that’s true, we must challenge ourselves not just to begin our days with positive thoughts, BUT also to carry that positive thinking with us throughout the day. It is sort of like a success ammunition, and a no-brainer, right?
Marcus Aurelius, the great philosopher who ruled the Roman Empire, said it simply: “Our life is what our thoughts make it”.
Dale Carnegie, also said: “If we think happy thoughts, we will be happy. If we think miserable thoughts, we will be miserable. If we think fear thoughts, we will be fearful. If we think sickly thoughts we will probably fall ill. If we think failure, we will certainly fail. If we wallow in self-pity, everyone will want to shun and avoid us”.
Am I advocating a happy-go-lucky, tra-la-la attitude toward all of life’s problems? NO! No, because life isn’t that simple! But I am advocating, unapologetically – in the strongest terms – that we assume a positive attitude rather than a negative one.
Positive self-confident feelings not only help you achieve more; they also make others want to be associated with you. People are drawn to others who have an upbeat outlook. People with a can-do attitude are attractive to others. On the other hand, constant complainers, wailers, moaners, those sorts of people are like repellent!
That said, you cannot change someone else’s attitude but you can certainly change yours….
